The usual opening hours for stores in the centers of the large cities are continuous (9:00 a.m.- 9:00 p.m.), for suburban stores the working hours are split shifts three days a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday – 9:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.) and morning shifts for the other three days (Monday, Wednesday and Saturday – 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.). Supermarkets operate a continuous shift up to 9:00 p.m., while all the stores are closed on Sundays.

Downtown Athens is a shopper’s paradise. Plaka and Monastiraki with a large variety of tourist shops are the main shopping areas for buying souvenirs, folk art and traditional Greek wares such as pottery, worry beads, handmade leather sandals and bags, large variety of tourist shops all of central Athens. The clothing shops have quality men and women's apparel from all over the world and the shoe stores make you wonder why your choices at home are so limited. The head shopping area is in Kolonaki. The neighborhood of the "elite" Athenians, it traditionally houses top designers and expensive retail boutiques. Greek design houses are located around the main square known as Platia Kolonakiou. The two other main shopping streets of Eolou and Agiou Marou are the streets where you can find incredible bargains in clothes, fabrics, yarn, shoes, and cafes where you can catch your breath after a period of furious shopping. Thessaloniki
Thessaloniki offers many different possibilities for nightlife from traditional to Modern Greek music and from jazz to rock and soul and any other kind of music. Night life, meaning clubs and “bouzoukia” (clubs with live music where famous Greek artists sing), starts usually at 11:00pm and it lasts until the small hours of the next day. The city's most fashionable nightlife district is Ladhadhika , near the harbor. At the end of Odos Tsimiki you will reach Modiano Market in the Vatikioti quarter – in this old and big market the visitor enters the Mediterranean world of commerce and bargaining. Here you will find almost anything your heart could desire. Beside fresh fish, meat, fruit or vegetables, Modiano Market also sells local craftwork and souvenirs. If you should prefer to do your market tour under the blue sky, just move into the lively streets of Vatikioti.
Mykonos

Corfu
Corfu is famous for its nightlife. Apart from the movie theatres, "Orpheus", and "Pallas", which feature family entertainment, the island offers a wide variety of bars and cafes proposing various kind of music, suitable for every taste. The most popular places to go are the cafes on Liston Promenade or the cafes on the north end of Splianada Square. The cafes are open from morning to night and are always bustling with people.
